The word on the strait...

Autisterna - Swedish n brilliant, very little about em at the moment, other than their myspace page, but the pixie loves these guys. Poppixie loved Lola Barbershop as well, one of the great unknown pop bands of our time... Autisterna are made up of some of the surviving members of that late great pop combo. More more more power to their elbow. Awesome.

Some Random old links from the old days before they built the by pass.
  • The puddle that is Estrus Records is todays pool to paddle in, nice mud. The popkiss call is The Insomniacs, hats suspect, hair matted.

You need more ears to go round.

You wont have time to sleep if you are goin to wade through this lot. The Cherry Blossom Clinic radio archive will keep you amused for days. If the Wrecklessness that is Eric saw fit to pop in twice last year that's good enough recomendation for the Pixie!

  • The Hermit wanders out.

    hermit

    No Idea Records

wear your stinkiest socks if you're feeling lucky punkboy. lots of noisy numskulls a-stomping and a mangling but side step those and hangout with - The Tones, This Bike is a Pipe Bomb, Usuals and Whiskey + Co instead. No Idea Records

    Munster

While your up for it visit the spikey foxes at Munster for a batch of streams...ahh lovely hair (popkiss tip : The Fast)

    Little Darla

Sell your Christmas presents to the neighbours and spend your money at Darla...oh and MP3s in abundance here to entertain ya.

  • Torpedo - dally whilst you are here fwith these bumtious wee lads.

  • Xmas Joe - surf down under for the snow and bellbottoms.

    pixie

    last.fm

    radio

  • siesta

    - these lot are spanish n all that and seem to release roughly 1/2 english n 1/2 spanish like ya kno. a lot of hey nonny cobblers on offer from girls who spend too long in sweet shops with the Death By Chocolate swirl of wirlyness which will eat your nasal hair and leave you short of spoons. No Mp3s up for snaffles, but low quality 'real' stuff that gives you a good snorkle through the seaweed. Quite a narrow cross section of larks abound, highs peak at dear departed Red Sleeping Beauty and plucking bandits The Magic Whispers, with those stars of bedroom-pop-gone-by, They Go Boom! all sold out but with one 'real' song on here...sadly it and their siesta releases, are from the time they went all squishy on us (ahh i can smell the fanzine flyers from here). Not enough hats and vinegar all in all.

    elefant

    - The home of some lovely spanish ladies in big skirts with bits of wood on string which they...no apparently they have a big pile of CDs they want to sell you instead, lots of 'real player' to sample but a bundle of MP3s here also, in a pop eclectic sideboard of delights...ahh.

This ones by the spanish wife of Rolf Harris aparently...coolio

    damaged goods

    - these rock n roll uber-papas kick sand in the face of weasels the world over. these guys can do no wrong. they brought us helen love which should be good enough for anyone, but have keepie upied it for 250+ releases and not a duffer among em (unless you look v closely in a bright light). behold and twirl for such super stars as revillos, ludicrous lollipops (they arrived, thrilled, vanished long ago, but are still not sold out)and bristols (see previous brackets, which apply to about 80% of the bands on here, sorta pop archeology which should recieve cash hand outs from the ministry of meejansporte). they now seem to concentrate on that big cheese geezer billy childish (and his lovely hair) in his various incarnations, and bands with girls in shiny skirts in em...grand stuff. no MP3s but lotsa real/quicktime stuff you cant pickle.

    labrador

-if jesus played a banjo then labrador records would be based in wigan but as it is, he didnt, so labrador have to live in sweden instead. all those who, like erasmus, thought that the swedes were only good at naming vegetables and sleeping with footballers, have been left rolling in chutney of their own making by a pop explosion reminisient of a helium filled donkey falling up a chimney...wow guys, eat that pie.

    slumberland

    - a rare and splendid thing, akin to sparkling bits in a friendly lions mane. eat drink and be merry at the tiny trough that is slumberland and its lovely cooking. follow the aisler set link and you will even get to Mr J Peel RIP, what finer recomendation could any pixie hope for (oh what we have lost, never will a list of gigs be lost so endearingly again). chocka blocka. **buy things** foster joy and gerkins throughout the world. The Saturday People even have 2 nice hats...ahhh - run there now before they close the gates for ever.

    kittenridge

-popmagorical, and lovely hats aplenty, weasels lie abounding in shock and awe at the smoothness of it all...ahh and even a MP3 download of their sampler up for grabs, happiness is hat shaped. some ropey muha-ha does lurk within but such oddly compulsive stars as New Bethal, the unpomisingly named New Estate and the twinkle toed The Like Young (vist em at their site and they will give you sweeties) raise above the core mantle of grumpy woozers who need a course of toadstool treatment to buck their ideas up i fancy. Those old lads of Leeds Boyracer can even be found lurking in these parts.

    matinee

    - these rumbuncious tony robinsons of pop are up to their knees in 'istorical artifacts, lovingly caressed from the muddy depths of a norfolk bog with the aid of only a toothbrush and an ill fitting cargigan their mother knitted for them that wet weekend in oestend when the cars big end got discombobulated. is no long past band from bracknell or cowbridge allowed to bask in the unknow glory of an unrelased flexi bought only by their mothers and a man they met on the bus? are no 4 track demos recorded in black n white and burried in an underwater skip by secret frogmen safely to be left to lie...

matinee, they just wouldnt let it lie and well done to them for that...but hey where were you in 89 when the world needed ya?? loada streams here, keep warm with Airport Girl and the sweet lil boys of Math and Physics Club...

    omnibus

    parasol

cant keep a good badger down, horrible windows streams tho...but better than nowt! topsters Joe Algeri (honest bear with me here) and er Peter Bjorn and John (ok not exactly cool name like elvis or ringo but blame the Kabalarians for that) can be heard here

    quince

    bands

    jumprope

    blind bats

    wreckless eric

    windmills

    white town

the cuddly cowboy of a small northern hamlet, living the dream and not giving you any free MP3s..oh well

    siddleys

super hair do's and a top hole MP3 up for grabs - bingo

    atom + his package

    redsleeping beauty

    cardigans

  • Fanzine corner-cupboard

why not put all your eggs in one basket, that way you dont have superfluous baskets. makes sense to me.

rubbish hats, but MP3s for ya'll to scooner.

    clappy happy carrots

    trianges

  • monkeys

  • Shelves of Destruction

Shelflife Records...free pop MP3s (sadly no nice hats for sale but im told they do have a braised leopard trained to open tins...)...oh jimjams the sites gone into hiding...stay calm n hide in the bushes, it'll be back soon maybe...

  • "jangle pop" downloads.... whatever jangle pop may be! pigeon pie anyone?

so lots of free MP3s, thats what we like (along with us liking nice hats and friendly squirrels in cute little cars waving at us as we sit on a non-complaining comfortable elf eating our crinkle cut crisps)

Captain Cocoa the Great Grandpa's of the Sugargliders have got to be the standouts...grab the free MP3s while they still have their own teeth.

    pixie

but, a lotta doodah jimmy malarkie on here as well, with quaintly polished name plates like "brit pop" ahhh aint they a sweetie with their nicely polished hair...and even "shoegazing" which takes me back to before the war when all the cabbages came home to roost and the flames of the stray bacon slicers were quenched by the leopard of gravy...aahhh those were the days.
